Walima's Bangladeshi Curry Paste

A traditional Bangladeshi curry paste that can be used with vegetables, fish, chicken and meat.

Onions, ginger, garlic, vegetable oil, red chilli, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin, coriander, salt, cinnamon, cloves, pepper.

Example Recipe (2 serves):
1/2 jar (150g) of Walima's Bangladeshi Curry Paste
2 chicken thighs, skin off, diced (approx. 300g) 
1 tbsp veg oil
1 tsp garlic, crushed
1 tsp ginger, grated
Salt to taste


  • Mix chicken, garlic and ginger together
  • Heat a heavy-based fry pan over medium heat with oil and sear off chicken pieces for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in curry paste along with 1/2 cup of water and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10-15 minutes, over a low heat until the chicken is cooked.
  • Serve with basmati rice and your choice of steamed green vegetables.
